Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical are communicated through the words, music and movement. Since the early 20th century musical theatre stage works have generally been called, Musicals.

Some of the most famous and iconic musicals through the decades include West Side Story, Wicked, Joseph, The Lion King, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, Aladdin, Chicago and many more.

Musicals are performed around the world - Broadway, West End, smaller productions or on tour.

In our show we create a musical production to perform. The production encompasses all aspects of Musical Theatre - Singing, Acting and Dance. It allows those involved the chance to enhance their performance skills and helps train pupils in all three aspects producing the "TRIPLE THREAT"

Musical Theatre classes include the following:

  • Drama Warm Up

  • Singing Warm Up

  • Song Repertoire including movement

  • Drama Games to enhance confidence and working as a group

Children will be prepared for Musical Theatre Examinations, Stage Festivals and shows.
